Catch up: G, H & Thanksgiving....

Time has slipped by and here I am  4 weeks behind in this blog. Definitely time to catch up!!

We have been proceeding through the alphabet each week...going good so far.

Let's start with G week---
We did "G" word and "G" picture collages, we ate gummie fruits, goldfish crackers and grapes for snacks, Tinkerbell4 did several gumball worksheets, had fun with glitter, and learned another memory verse. Also added in a few of our Fall pictures we took on G week...the girls had fun in the Fall leaves...

 

 

For H week, we had hot dogs one day for lunch, had lunch with Daddy at one of the local hospitals (where he works), read H books, made H collages, did an "H" is for house craft, watched Hermie and friends episodes, etc.

 

 

The next week (our Thanksgiving theme week) changed our lives forever...on Mon, Nov 19, Tinkerbell4 and Princess2's Grandpa B passed away and is now in Heaven. We left that day to go where they lived to spent a week there with Grandma B and to attend his services. It was definitely a bittersweet week...We went out to eat a lot of places Grandpa B liked, had Thanksgiving with friends, went bowling, went to a Christmas tree lighting event (we got there too late to see the tree lit but the girls did get balloon animals), attended Grandpa B's memorial service (it was really nice) and got to enjoy some time at a park and a beach. We will miss Grandpa B but have hope and confidence that we will see him again someday in Heaven!

 

 

Letter "F" week, "Fall" week and review

The past 2 weeks we worked on "F" week, made French toast muffins, had Flan for dessert, did a "Fall" craft, traveled to visit both grandparents, enjoyed some beautiful scenery, went to a Fall festival/Halloween alternative dress up party (the girls had a FUN time dressing up and LOVED the bounce houses) , read a lot of "F" books and did a little of A-F review.

Letter "E" week

We had a fun "E" week last week...several firsts for us. Our first science experiment (see the 2 pictures...picture #1 was when we first put the egg in vinegar and picture #2 was what the egg looked like after 2 days soaking in vinegar--pretty cool!!) and the girls first ride on a escalator. The escalator was such a big hit that they had to go several times.

We also painted (the girls LOVE to paint), we read books, we made listening ears (for one of our "E" crafts), and we did "E" worksheets

Letter "D" week

Since Tinkerbell4's favorite Disney character, Doc McStuffins, starts with a "D", she really liked this week. On Tues, we focused on just Doc McStuffins and "D" for her worksheets, coloring sheets and crafts.

On Thurs, Daddy had the day off, so we all went out for donuts...that was a BIG hit with both girls!!

During our week, we also read a lot of "D" books, did several counting worksheets with cutting and pasting, played dress up and finger painted, which they loved!

Letter "C" week

This past week was the letter "C"...we did a lot of crafts, read a lot of "C" books and didn't do many "C" worksheets since Tinkerbell4 seems to  know how to make her C's pretty well. We also played our Alphabet Bingo game...it was a big hit with Tinkerbell4....we must have played 4-5 times in a row!! Here's a few pictures highlighting our week's learning...

Tinkerbell4 also started dance lessons this past week..the class is part ballet, part tap, part free dancing--it was super cute to watch!
